Is that a light at the end of the tunnel?

It seems to be some ray of hope in regards to my computer. I was finally able to get an OS to boot up on it using the PATA drive. For some reason the BIOS was detecting the address mode as CHS instead of LBA. So once I changed that and re-formatted the drive it started working. It was a big pain in the ass. I got Win2k running on it now and was able to backup my data off my old drive. It's definetly bad, still causing system lockups when reading and writing from it occasionally but that isn't a big deal at this point.

So hopefully I should be set to go on Thursday when my new drive comes. It took me 3 days of tinkering and much profanity to get the stupid thing backed up but it is now.
