Battlestar Galactica

After a very long wait, Battlestar Galactica is to start airing in the US this friday on the Sci-Fi channel. The mini series to open it up originally aired back in December 2003. Even if you didn't catch it when it first aired or any of the repeats, if you like Sci-Fi shows definetly catch this one.

I have had the oppertunity to watch several of the episodes already and I gotta say, it is awesome. It is a refreshing space show that has been pretty cool. The space battles seem more realistic, in just the way they show the ships fly and fight.

If you are unaware, there was a short-lived Battlestar Galactica series back in the 1970s. I've seen an episode or two of it on Sci-Fi since they still play them and the new series is so much better. The old one is very dated now, even more than say the original Star Trek episodes.

So even if you didn't catch the mini series, you should be able to pick up what is going on in the first episode. I am sure they will play a decent re-cap right at the beginning.
