Focus Lovin Part 2

To conclude my previous post, I've now finished my car work (mostly). Between today and yesterday, I've switched off my snow tires, replaced my front brakes, installed my mud flaps, installed my new chip and voltage gauge. The only thing I have left to do is clean the air filter, which I'll do when I get back from the beach this week. I've posted some pictures, which you view here.

I wasn't planning on replacing my brakes but when the people switched off my tires at Les Schwab they mentioned that they needed to be replaced. It would have been $336 to have them do it but it only was $89 in parts to do it at home so that's exactly what I went with. It only took about an hour to do as well. I really needed to replace them too. If you look at the pictures, there is one of the old pad and the new one and it was pretty much gone.

Since I had the wheels off, I finally got around to installing the front mud flaps that I had bought and painted last summer. I didn't take any pictures of those. Since I live on a dirt road, I wanted them to help keep my car cleaner during the winter, we'll see how much it helps.

With my chip installed, I took it out for a quick drive earlier today. I can definetly tell a difference; especially from a dead stop. It really takes off now right off the line. I got the valet mode on my chip, so when that program is selected, the car will only go up to 30mph. I tried that out as well and it works and is kind of cool. I'll go into town tomorrow and see how different it is when I have to go over the mountain.

I'll probably take a bunch of pictures when I go to the drive beach in Seaside on Wednesday and post some of them when I get back.
